Putting the "Joy" back in joystick

My Slow Life with the Princess Knight and Her Devoted Handmaiden is now available for on Steam, MangaGamer, and JAST USA.

My Slow Life with the Princess Knight and Her Devoted Handmaiden follows an unfortunate adventurer named Garland. On his last quest, he was betrayed by his party. Attacked and forced to escape, he barely survived the assault. Having been badly wounded in the incident, he's forced to take a break from his daring lifestyle, leading him to realize just how much he lacks people he can trust.

He doesn’t have any family members or friends he’d trust in his current state; however, between his current condition and the wealth he amassed as an adventurer, he’s an obvious target for any bandit looking to get rich quick. His desperation to find some form of aid drives him towards an unusual solution: he’ll have to buy a slave.

Garland isn’t a fan of slavery, but the recent war between his homeland and its neighboring land brought with it many kidnapped warriors. What’s more, slaves are magically bound, meaning that until he sets them free, they can’t harm him. In the end, he purchases the enslaved princess and her handmaiden, beginning his new life with the two women.

Garland used to be a formidable adventurer.

However, that was back before he was betrayed by his fellows on a quest that left him seriously wounded. Lucky enough to make it out with his life but unluckily without family or relatives, he is in no shape to look after himself due to his injuries. What he does have left is his adventurer's spirit, which fuels his hopes to make a full recovery and head out to face the world again.

In the meantime, what he needs is someone to take care of him...

But having been deceived by a band he thought he trusted, and now being grievously wounded, what he's shortest on is faith in anyone else. Complicating the situation even further, word of the fortune Garland acquired through his personal disaster has spread far enough that everyone he meets seems to be after his money. If he had his health he might have little to fear, but as the situation stands, he needs help that he can rely on. At the moment, Garland needs assistance to survive.

As he mulls over what to do, the news reaches his ears that his homeland has captured a certain smaller nation. He also happens to see in passing some citizens from that fallen nation, perhaps captured during the takeover, being transported to be sold as slaves. As an adventurer who believes in freedom, Garland doesn’t like the idea, but with slaves trust is optional: magic makes them obedient.

My Slow Life with the Princess Knight and Her Devoted Handmaiden is now available on JAST USA for $14.99 and Steam for the promotional price of $11.99 until December 21st, at which point it will cost $14.99. The visual novel is also sold on MangaGamer for $11.96, where it will later cost $14.95. Adult content for the Steam has to be installed separately using a free patch available on Johren.
