Taichou Games published their money raising pixel RPG Echoes of the Town on DLsite.
Echoes of the Town follows Akemi, a young girl who has returned to her hometown after studying overseas. Her grandparents have passed away, so she inherited her grandmother’s house. When she returns, not everything is how she remembered it. The town has become more dangerous, guns have become more commonplace, and her childhood friend Masamaru — whom she thought was a girl — was actually a guy the entire time. Even the corrupt mayor is out to cause Akemi trouble by enforcing a pricey heritage tax with accumulating interest. If she is unable to come up with enough money, she’ll have no choice but to sell her grandmother’s beloved home. Akemi will need to work hard by any means if she wants to make bank.
The game runs on a daily cycle with three times of day: morning, afternoon, and night. Time will pass when you go to work or sleep at night. There are multiple jobs you can do, but at the start of the game, you can only do one. Some jobs will require more job experience, so you will need to do the other ones first. People around town will have side quests that can offer you more money. Some of them may require getting rid of bullies, exorcizing spirits, breaking into buildings, or killing homeless people. While your quest giver will tell you what to do, there is more than one way to solve their problem. If you don’t want to be violent, there is a more peaceful way of completing quests.
Save the House

Akemi's inheritance comes with a twist - a hefty heritage tax. With interest accumulating, she's left with no choice but to roll up her sleeves and dive into the quirky world of the town. Work alongside eccentric townsfolk, complete quests, and explore a diverse landscape, all in the pursuit of saving her cherished family home.
You can purchase Echoes of the Town on DLsite for ¥2,200 (estimated $14.55 USD). There is also a demo available if you would like to try the game out first. Before purchasing the game on DLsite, make sure you have a Japanese language pack on your PC and your system locale set to Japanese. You can learn more about this on DLsite’s help page.
