Wake up in a mysterious forest and meet two beautiful companions in Thorny Trails, a fantasy visual novel currently in development on Itch.io.

Thorny Trails is a fantasy visual novel being worked on by the independent developer, Era of Meat. In the game, you take control of the protagonist, who awakens in an unfamiliar forest without any memories. You don’t know your name, family, friends, or how you ended up in this place. While wandering around, you meet a blonde woman in a revealing outfit, Dizzy, who asks if you are alright. After explaining your situation, she is sympathetic to your plight and offers to take you to the Wild Boar, a tavern frequented by the locals in town. On the way there, the two of you start chatting, leading you to learn that this place is different from the modern world: they don’t know what cars are, the tavern is very old-fashioned, and the waitress even has cat ears.

On your adventure, you will be accompanied by Ziggy and the cat waitress from the tavern. Together, you'll work to find out what happened to your memories and how to return back to your world. Be careful of the choices you make and the dangers that await: it may be necessary to make sacrifices to get what you want. One question remains: how willing are you to make such sacrifices? How far are you willing to go in order to return to your world?

Thorny Trails is available for Android, Linux, PC, and Mac. You can download the current build of the game from Itch.io.
