Mokoko X, a comedic arcade puzzle game by NAISU is now available for purchase on MangaGamer.

Mokoko X is an arcade puzzle game inspired by area-slicing games from the ’80s and ’90s. Players control a ship that slits parts of the background as it travels through the level, with the goal being to uncover most of the image underneath while avoiding enemies and other obstacles. This task isn’t as easy as it sounds, though; as the player ship moves through the screen, it draws a line for the cut, which will only be completed after touching another edge of the area. If enemies collide with the line before then, the player is dragged back to the start of their line, losing a life.

There are thirty-two unique levels in Mokoko X, divided among eight fully-voiced heroines. Each heroine comes with their own story, usually of a ridiculous tone. Players will help fight a gyroscopic guard dog, aid in breaking up with a possessed shuriken, fend off an invasion of ducks, and challenge a man who’s transformed himself into a mosquito to annoy others.

Every stage hides a unique picture to be unlocked. Completing all episodes for one of the heroines also grants access to new pages of the Mokoko legend, containing the game’s main story. The erotic content in Mokoko X is limited to animated images of nudity.

Mokoko X was inspired from the arcade games like Volfied, Qix and Gals Panic. A popular gaming style in the late 1980’s, Mokoko X looks to resurrect the soul of the arcade genre while adding a modern touch. There are 32 levels in Mokoko X; each level has its own unique boss and minions. The main goal is assisting the girls that need help from the weird bosses. This is sometimes passing a mobile game level, sometimes helping out with the insects in the kitchen.

Gameplay

The main goal is conquering the bigger portion of the screen. While you are in your own area, you are safe from the enemies until your shield depletes. You conquer new areas by drawing out of your area. Drawing, however, deactivates your shield and exposes you to danger. Your shield decreases constantly. If you do not conquer at a certain frequency, your shield will burn out and you will not be safe on your own areas as well.There are 3 difficulties in the game. The difficulty affects enemies, your shield, and the required conquered area percentage for the victory.
