Pandita Studio has launched a crowdfunding campaign for their currently-in-development erotic rhythm game, Rockstar Idol.
Rockstar Idol is a rhythm game where your main goal as the protagonist is to impress Hitori, your childhood friend. Ten years ago, Hitori left the country to follow her dreams of becoming an idol. Today, after becoming the most popular idol around, she is finally returning to the city for a visit. On the way there, Hitori gets into a car accident with her dad, so she walks to your house while he stays with the car. Your dad goes to check on him, leaving you alone in the house with Hitori. It has been a long time since the two of you saw each other, so she wants to spend time with you. After learning that you play the electric guitar, she suggests a naughty game to get closer with you.
In Rockstar Idol, players will need to play songs to increase Hitori’s impression bar, picking a song and hitting the right buttons to the beat of the music. If you mess up too many times, you'll need to start over; after playing a song well, you'll be able to remove a piece of Hitori's clothing, starting with her accessories before her clothes can be stripped off. After removing all of her clothes, you will receive a CG.
If the Kickstarter is successful and the game is completed, there will be a total of three idols that players can perform for. Pandita Studio also plans to release the game on Steam with Steam Workshop support, letting players create their own levels and share them with other players.
Pandita Studio needs MX$12,000 (approximately $64 USD) to successfully fund Rockstar Idol. This is the second time they have tried raising money for this project. If they reach their goal, the project still has two additional stretch goals to aim for.
If they raise MX$24,000 ($1,300 USD), they will release an Android version of the game on Itch.io.
At MX$38,000 ($2,000 USD), there will be a special route where the idols dress up in cute neko outfits.
Additionally, if you choose to back the project, you can receive additional rewards at different backer tiers.
- For MX$20 ($2 USD), Tier 1 - Supporter, your name will appear in the game's credits.
- For MX$150 ($9 USD), Tier 2 - Digital Copy, you will get a Steam key of the game and your name in the credits.
- For MX$250 ($14 USD), Tier 3 - Exclusive Backer, you will receive everything from the previous tiers and an exclusive wallpaper, an exclusive Discord role in Pandita Studio’s server, and the game’s digital soundtrack.
- For MX$550 ($30 USD), Tier 4 - Extended Version, you will receive rewards from the previous tiers and a Steam DLC key that will add more story routes for the idols.
- For MX$950 ($52 USD), Tier 5 - Collector Edition, you will receive rewards from the previous tiers and digital art book with drafts, character illustrations, and more.
- For MX$1,300 ($71 USD), Tier 6 - Pro Supporter, you will receive rewards from the previous tiers, beta test access to the game, and a signed digital sketch of one of the idols in the game. The sketch will depict the idol of your choice wearing the outfit you want. This tier is only available for twelve backers.
- For MX$2,500 ($135 USD), Tier 7 - Collaborator, you will receive the previous tier rewards and the option to request an outfit for one idol to wear in one route. This tier is only available for five backers.
- For MX$5,000 ($270 USD), Tier 8 - VIP Collaborator, you will receive rewards from the previous tiers and the chance to work with the developer to design an idol. You will be able to decide her appearance, outfit, personality, and character description. This tier is only available for two backers.
There was also an Early Backer (VIP Collaborator) tier available at one point, but that tier has since sold out.
The campaign for Rockstar Idol ends on April 9th. As of writing this article, Pandita Studio has raised MX$36,518.80 ($1,963 USD). You can read more information on the game on its Kickstarter page. Additionally, a demo of the game is available on Itch.io.
