Long and Hard… Summer!, Inlet Pipe Productions’ dating sim about juggling make-up classes with his summer, is available now on Steam.
We previously wrote an article about Long and Hard… Summer! back when it was still in development. The game, which has released since then, is a fusion between a slice-of-life dating sim and RPG, where players manage their love, school, and work life. You play as a freshman in university, who has been having a rough time as of late. After failing your first semester, you’re forced to take make-up classes and pass the following tests, or else you won’t be able to continue your studies in the Game Design Course.
It seems bad enough that you won’t be able to have any fun during summer vacation, but the situation gets even worse when your parents stop paying for your apartment. Though you'll now have to find a job and earn enough to keep yourself afloat, you won’t be alone in the ensuing adventure, as three girls will help make your life more interesting and pleasurable. These girls include Kaname Mao, a fellow student; Akari Tanaka, a professor at the university; and Yui Harada, your stepsister. Surely, you will encounter roadblocks and obstacles on your way to adulthood, but that’s the spice of life.
In Long and Hard… Summer!, you will be managing your life however you want in the game's open-world environment. Players will be able to freely choose how they want to spend their time, whether it involves going on dates, learning about game design at the university, or working a day job. Complete missions and get to know the characters better to unlock story events in the game. Some events and activities will require the player to have specific stats increased, so level them up when you see fit.
You can purchase Long and Hard… Summer! on sale from Steam for $11.99. After December 22nd, the sale will end and the game will return to its original sales price of $14.99. There is also a demo available on the store page to try out as well.
