Y Press Games' crowdfunding campaign for their bara boys love visual novel, Dear Monster, is now live on Kickstarter.
Dear Monster follows the story of Allen, a university graduate who had planned on attending med school until he received a letter from his grandfather, asking him to move in with him. Prior to that point, his grandfather hadn't contacted him in years, so Allen decides to pay him a visit and formally turn down his request.
He eventually arrives at a mansion, but nobody answers the door. He lets himself in and is met with the sight of a man with horns yelling at another man with fox ears. Once the two of them started fighting each other, Allen closed the door and tried to flee the estate, only for a magical barrier to suddenly push him down. It was then that a man with a single horn on his forehead approached Allen, helping him up. The horned man tells Allen how he's been awaiting his arrival. Allen soon learns that his grandfather is missing and that he won't be able to leave the mansion. If his heart is set on leaving, he'll need to learn magic and bond with the magical inhabitants of the manor.

Y Press Games' Kickstarter campaign goal for Dear Monster is set to $50,000. In addition to this main goal, there are also three stretch goals to aim for afterward. At $60,000, a threesome between Imriss, Faeryn, and Allen will be added to the game; at $75,000, the orc cook, Slagathor will become a love interest for the protagonist; finally, at $108,000, the game will receive full voice acting.
There are also many rewards available to the backers. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, pledging towards the higher tiers will give you access to everything included in the lower tiers.
At $12, they will put your name in the credits and a Kickstarter-exclusive digital Wizard Scroll of Allen.
At $44, backers will receive a Steam or Itch.io code for the game and another Wizard Scroll, this time featuring Allen and Faeryn.
At $75, backers will get the game’s art book, strategy guide, soundtrack, and a Wizard Scroll of Momo.
At $150, backers will be beta testers for the game, receive beta test Steam codes, and will be able to play routes as they are being created. The fourth Wizard Scroll you can receive features Hikmat.
At $350, backers will receive physical rewards, such as a poster, a four-piece sticker set, a five-piece postcard set, a color bookmark, and a pop socket to attach to the back of your phone. The Wizard Scroll included in this tier features Imbriss.
At $450, you’ll receive a 3D oppai mouse pad of Imbriss, a keychain set of four characters, and the final Wizard Scroll, featuring Slagathor.
The $500 tier gives a limited number of backers a customized art bust of their own character in the game and the choice to make two edits so that the character is exactly how they want it. This tier does not include the physical rewards and is no longer available as of this writing.
At $750, you can receive all of the campaign's physical rewards. New rewards exclusive to this tier include a full-colored, double-sided dakimakura pillowcase of Momo and a chibi Slagathor label pin. This includes all the rewards from the $450 tier.
At $1,000, backers will receive all physical and digital rewards, as well as the $500 tier reward to design a custom character.
