A young man tries to repay his debt to a goddess in Sweet & Tea’s The Seventh Sign -Mr.Sister-, a comedy adventure game now available on GOG, Denpasoft, and Sekai Project.
The story of The Seventh Sign -Mr.Sister- begins right before the summer holidays, with the protagonist Reiji and his sister Erika out on a walk. While climbing the temple, Reiji slips and cracks his head on the stairs, coming face-to-face with death. Luckily for him, the cat goddess Fuuko takes notice and intervenes, saving his life by lending him some of her powers. Though her intentions were no doubt sincere, things soon begin to go wrong.
Firstly, Reiji’s sister sprouts cat ears and seems to have forgotten everything about the incident. While distressing on its own, this proves to be the lesser problem, as the protagonist and Fuuko discover that gods aren’t supposed to share their powers. If Reiji keeps the godly shard embedded within him and Fuuko doesn’t soon recover all the powers her body is meant to house, they will both perish. Panic-stricken, the pair embarks to find a way to transfer the shard back to Fuuko. Unfortunately, the young goddess's ideas mainly revolve around killing Reiji outright, so she doesn’t have to die with him.
The Seventh Sign -Mr.Sister- was first announced during Anime Expo 2019 and scheduled to release in Summer 2020 on Steam. Sadly, during the publishing process, Valve decided that the visual novel wasn’t suitable for their platform and promptly canceled the release. Fans had to wait quite a while since then, but Sekai Project has finally found a publishing opportunity, pairing up with GOG to release the story on their storefront instead.
One day, while Reiji and his sister Erika are out for a walk, Reiji slips on the stone steps of a small shrine, cracks his head, and ends up at death’s door. Fortunately for him, a cat-eared girl named Fuuko appears to save his life. She says she’s a god and that, in order to save him, she put three of the seven fragments of her divine powers into him, and now they’re trapped inside.
If that all wasn’t bad enough, Erika seems to have lost her memories of the accident that nearly took Reiji’s life… and mysteriously enough, she’s sprouted cat ears of her own! Reiji decides to set that problem to the side for the moment, though, because, as it turns out, not only do gods need all their powers, ordinary people don’t do so well with shards of divinity stuck inside their skulls! Unless Reiji and Fuuko can get the fragments out of Reiji and back where they belong, both of them are doomed to die. Thus, the two join forces to extract the fragments!
Unfortunately, step one of most of Fuuko’s brilliant schemes for getting her powers back is: kill Reiji. She can only think of one one way to safely remove them—shocking Reiji’s heart to its very core. The one silver lining to all this is, their school, Mahiro Academy, is soon to go on summer vacation, so they’ve got a lot of free time.
It’s a life-or-death race against the clock for Reiji and Fuuko!
The Seventh Sign -Mr.Sister- is now available on GOG, Denpasoft, and Sekai Project’s website for the promotional price of $17.99, where it will later cost $19.99. Adult content for the GOG version has to be installed separately, using an adult patch.
