Help out women and become their guardian in Alvein: I became a hero, but…, a fantasy RPG being developed by a couple.
Alvein: I became a hero, but… is a fantasy slice of life RPG being made by Yni. The game centers around a young boy who, after his father’s death, discovers that his family comes from another world. One where they served the role of guardians: driven and powerful men tasked with protecting villages from monsters in exchange for the women’s love. A goddess from his world of origin brings him back, asking that he inherits his father’s role. As one may expect, this task won’t be easy — his dad ran away because he was too weak to succeed, and the protagonist is nowhere near ready for the task himself. However, with help from new and old friends, he might yet succeed and save everyone.
The game has an open-ended nature. While the protagonist is given a variety of tasks from the townspeople, you’re free to tackle them at your own pace and focus on the plot of whichever characters grab your attention. The game has a daytime system, where each day is divided into four phases, with different functions being available at different times. Certain activities will reward the player with gold or stat increases and, more importantly, most of them will progress the story, which each heroine having her own plot to follow.
The latest build of Alvein: I became a hero, but… features four heroines to invest your time in: a busty maid who lives with you, and whose role can be renamed; a stern, older wizard; a younger witch with a breast size complex; and the short, plump, but capable tavern keeper. The tasks given to you by the girls are largely story-driven, but will occasionally test your reflexes and timing through minigames.
Future builds of the game will expand on each of the heroines’ stories, as well as introduce new areas and characters, like the dark elf town mayor. Yni plans to update the game every one or two months, depending on the amount of content they have planned for each release.
