Adapted from Yamila Abraham’s best selling series of novels, Maelstrom: A Yaoi Visual Novel has been recently released on Steam.

Developed by Y Press Games and based off of Yamila Abraham's novel series Maelstrom: A Yaoi Visual Novel, which follows the exiled human soldier Demetri. After being sent to Secren, a wasteland-esque planet without women, he realizes how much of a disadvantage he is at. The men of Secren are much stronger and violent than any earthling. If Demetri wants to survive here, he’ll need to find a mate who will love and protect him from the other guys who would want to rape or kill him. One issue that may get in the way is that he’s straight and hesitant to have sex with another man just to survive. How will Demetri fare in the world of Secren and what will he surrender just to live another day?

There are four love interests for Demetri to choose from. There’s the mine owner and canon love interest from the original novel series Helix, the rustler in a cannibalistic biker gang; Jader, the governor of Secren, Zheng-Li; and the newest addition to the Maelstrom series, Sawyer the ex-barkeeper. With a linear storyline, there are still multiple important choices to make and endings to find in the game. While there are no explicit erotic CGs, the sex scenes are in the story vividly.
