Studio FOW’s upcoming strategy action game, Subverse, is heading towards Steam Early Access on March 26th.

Subverse is a sci-fi action strategy game that has the player manage a spaceship, known as the Mary Celeste, as they explore the largely unknown Prodigium galaxy. The player’s goal is to establish an all-female special forces unit tasked with overthrowing the puritan Empire currently dominating the galaxy. To that end, the player will have to engage in bullet hell dogfights through space, as well as manage their units in tactical, turn-based battles on the surface of planets.

The game was first announced on Kickstarter in March 2019 with the launch of a crowdfunding campaign seeking to raise £100,000 (approximately $138,805). The campaign was a resounding success, with Studio FOW receiving over one and a half million pounds or well over two million US dollars.

Studio FOW is now preparing to grant people access to the game, with Subverse heading for an early access release on Steam. This version of the game will feature three playable female characters and twenty-two main story chapters, providing approximately thirty hours of content. Future updates will include new story chapters and playable characters, with plans to include nine heroines in the final version of the game.

Subverse will become available on Steam Early Access and Streemster on March 26th, 2021. You can watch the announcement trailer below:
