Gal Gun’s official Twitter account has announced that the release for the Xbox One version of Gal Gun Returns has been cancelled.
Back on September 28th, we had written about Gal Gun Returns’ release announcement on PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One. Gal Gun Returns is the remastered version of Inti Creates' rail shooter, Gal Gun. It was the first game of the series, originally released on the Xbox 360 in 2011. On December 25th, the official Gal Gun Twitter account, @galgun_official, announced the cancellation of Gal Gun Returns on the Xbox One after discussing the possible release with Microsoft.
According to the announcement, Gal Gun Returns was sent in for review, but after a discussion with Microsoft, Inti Creates decided that it would be for the best to cancel the Xbox One release altogether. The development for the Xbox version has already been completed, but if they were to go through with releasing it, they would have to sacrifice the consistency of experience between all platforms. How the players would have experienced the Xbox version would have been different than if they had played it on the PC or Nintendo Switch. Gal Gun Returns is still set to release on those platforms, and so, Inti Creates has chosen to focus on those platforms.
