Cabbage Soft's visual novel about a catgirl café, Amairo Chocolate, has been updated with an English translation.
Amairo Chocolate is a slice-of-life visual novel following Shirokawa Yuzuki, a young man who has just arrived at the Yunagi Village. While there, he’s given a flyer from an animal-eared girl, which advertises a café in the area. He visits it out of curiosity and finds even more girls with unusual ears. As they explain to him, they’re therianthropes, and for most other humans, their animal features are invisible. To keep their secret safe, the girls employ Yuzuki at their café, which also gives him time to get to know them better.
Cabbage Soft's visual novel first became available on Steam and Denpasoft in March of this year, but the original release only supported Japanese and Chinese. Recently, the game's publisher, Sekai Project, has updated Amairo Chocolate with an English translation, allowing a wider audience to experience daily life at the Cafe Setaria and spend time with the games’ four heroines.
With the leaves just starting to change color, a boy arrives at Yunagi Village.
The first person he meets is a girl handing out flyers -- a cute, cat-eared waitress.
"P-Please come to Cafe Setaria! We hope to see you!"
Guided in by the waitress, he enters the shop and encounters another like-eared girl.
Thinking his reaction to her was strange, she asks the boy:
"Can you, perhaps, see these ears?"
The girls were in fact therianthropes, she said. Normal humans couldn't see their ears and tails.
Now that he knows their secret, the boy is roped into working together with them at the cafe.
He'll soon discover all the strange and interesting difference between their races.
Just another day at the Cafe Setaria.
You can purchase Amairo Chocolate on Steam and Denpasoft for the promotional price of $19.99 until the 5th of January, at which point the visual novel will cost $24.99. The Steam version of Amairo Chocolate is devoid of adult content, which can be installed separately using a patch available for free on Denpasoft.
