A demo version of the upcoming western release of Evenicle 2, titled Evenicle 2 - Clinical Trial Edition, has been made available on Steam.

Announced back in July, the demo of Evenicle 2, titled Evenicle 2 - Clinical Trial Edition, is now available on Steam. The game takes place in a fantasy world overrun by monsters. Humanity’s only hope for survival is gifted individuals called Sentinels, who can access powerful skills and magic. Using these abilities comes at a cost, though, inflicting the sentinels with hero syndrome, which causes them to more easily become diseased, and makes all diseases caused by the syndrome relapse indefinitely, no matter how much they’re treated.

You play as Alex, a sentinel gifted with magic, who has access to an unusually powerful skill called Medica. It is the only ability known to cure the hero syndrome, but it can only be used through sex. To complicate matters further, in the world of Evenicle 2, having sex with someone means marrying them. As such, Alex’s quest to research the hero syndrome and cure the sentinels becomes a story about building a harem.

Evenicle 2 is an open-world RPG. You travel the world as Alex, looking for new events, collecting items, and fighting monsters in randomized, turn-based battles. The game also features a collection of unique mechanics: skill points aren’t spent permanently, and abilities can instead be equipped and unequipped to suit any given situation. Leveling up can only be done in towns unless the player has a special item in their possession. Finally, the player can also capture some of the monsters roaming the game’s world.

Evenicle 2 - Clinical Trial Edition allows the players to experience the entirety of the first seven chapters of the game, except for one sex scene that was removed to appease Steam. Alicesoft is hopeful that this will be the only cut necessary to publish the game but has also begun speaking with other digital distributors to see if they can release a completely uncut version of the game on another platform. In another tweet, Alicesoft has also addressed concerns regarding mosaics, explaining that their presence is due to Japanese laws; however, upon hearing the feedback, they've decided to look further into the matter for potential solutions.

You can play Evenicle 2 - Clinical Trial Edition for free on Steam. While save files from the demo won't be compatible with the full version of the game, you will have the ability to skip the contents of the demo if you choose to purchase the full version in the future. The release date for the full version of Evenicle 2 hasn’t been announced as of yet.
