Indie developer Sugar Slip seeks funding for a rhythm visual novel about serial killers titled Serial Lover.
Serial Lover is a rhythm visual novel being developed by a single developer named Slip. Inspired by the likes of HuniePop, Katawa Shoujo, and Doki Doki Literature Club, Serial Lover has the player waking up in a mysterious house together with six other people, every one of them being a serial killer with personal psychological issues. To survive, the player will have to be nothing short of charming, however, seducing the killers will require good dexterity and sense of rhythm, as it is done through a challenging musical minigame.
The developer describes their desire is to create something that players can invest in both mechanically and emotionally, and also to make something with hot anime girls. The full version of Serial Lover would feature six killers, multiple playable tracks for each killer, many different endings revealing an overarching plot behind the main mystery, partial voice acting, numerous difficulty options, and an optional adult content patch.
Sugar Slip began working on the game in November of 2019, and has since created all the core aspects of the game, which you can try out yourself by playing the demo available on the Steam page. In order to produce the remaining content for Serial Lover, the developer needs help with additional funding. The minimal goal set for the Kickstarter campaign is $4,975 USD (estimated from $6,600 CAD), most of which would go towards hiring voice actors.
The main risk of the project lays in its scope. As is often the case, certain elements planned for Serial Lover have been delegated to stretch goals of the campaign. If the funding can exceed the base goal and reaches $8,285 USD (estimated from $11,000 CAD) more content will be added, at $12,805 USD (estimated from $17,000 CAD) the art will be improved, $16,571 USD (estimated from $22,000 CAD) will see the addition of outfits, and if the game can gather as much as $26,363 USD (estimated from $35,000 CAD), an additional promotional animation would be created.

You can read more about Serial Lover and support the project on Kickstarter. A Steam page with a demo is also available. At the time of writing, the crowdfunding campaign has gathered $1,380 USD (estimated from $1,831 CAD) out of its $4,975 USD (estimated from $6,600 CAD) goal. It's set up as an "all or nothing" project, meaning it will only be funded if the goal is met, and is open until September 4, 2020 at 8:57 AM EDT.
