Lilith has released a demo version of the next saga in their nukige ninja series, Taimanin Yukikaze 1: Trial.

The Steam page for Taimanin Yukikaze 1: Trial has been live since last year, and now the visual novel is finally available for download. The story takes place in an urban fantasy depiction of the near future. Unbeknownst to the average person, demons from the dark realm walk the Earth. To protect humans from demons and those who deal with them, the Japanese government established a special ninja force called the Taimanin.

Taking place after the sagas of Asagi and Murasaki, Taimanin Yukikaze 1: Trial showcases the beginning Mizuki Yukikaze and Akiyama Rinko's stories. This pair of Taimanin ninja is known for their combat prowess, as well as their unique magical abilities. When Mizuki’s mother, Shiranui, disappears during an investigation in a dangerous area under the demonic influence, Yukikaze and Rinko are chosen to perform a rescue mission.

The two agree without a second thought, confident in their skills, and dedication to save their fellow Taimanin. Their job will be to infiltrate a red light district infested by demons while posing as prostitutes. This task weights especially heavily on Yukikaze, who’s been in a relationship with Rinko’s brother since childhood, but hasn’t advanced past a kiss.

Taimanin Yukikaze 1: Trial features the first hour of the story, introducing the lead characters and the base premise, and doesn't feature any sexual content. It can be played for free on Steam. So far, there has been no news about the potential release of additional chapters.

The first visual novel in the series, Taimanin Asagi, had its store pages deleted from Steam after a brief period of availability. It later returned as a censored trial version, and is still available for free on Steam, but hasn't been updated any further since.
