The classic 90s eroge visual novel and dating simulator hybrid, True Love, has received an official release on Steam with the help of publisher FAKKU.
True Love ~Jun'ai Monogatari~,by Japanese eroge developer Software House Parsley, was initially released in 1995 for PC-98 systems in Japan and later released in the West in English by JAST USA and Otaku Publishing, at the beginning of 1999. The title also received a rerelease in 2012 by the translation group The Asenheim Project, which included support for several different languages.
For those not familiar with this popular eroge, True Love follows the adventures of a single, nineteen-year-old Japanese college student living the fictional Japanese city of Meiai, The protagonist's directionless life is about to end as he sets out on a quest for independence and to find a girlfriend, his one true love.
The player is tasked with controlling the actions of the protagonist over a period of three months. At the start of each morning, players designate an activity to pursue for the evening, night, and in the case of weekends or vacation, daytime: studying, practicing art, exercising, grooming, recreation, taking a break, going to work, shopping or fulfilling a promise.
Each one of the player's decisions allocates a varied amount of stat points into the hero's attributes that ultimately affect his romantic pursuits. Pursuing work activities also lets the player earn money that can be later used to purchase items for their own use or gifts for other characters.
True Love's sexual content mainly includes plenty of vanilla sex scenes for each pursuable girl, with a few raunchier positions and fetishes briefly explored in some of the game's scenarios.
True Love is now available on the PC via Steam for $9.99.
