LiLith’s demon fighting ninja return to Steam with the re-release of Taimanin Asagi 1: Trial, this time with noticeably less gore.
Taimanin Asagi 1: Trial contains the prelude to LiLith’s iconic nukige series, set in an urban fantasy depiction of Japan. There’s an unspoken rule that humans and demons should not meddle with one another’s affairs, but when people swayed by their desires break it, the Taimanin are sent after them. They're an elite group of demon-hunting ninja of genetically superior abilities, working for the government to protect the peace of the mundane world. The titular Asagi was one of them, but retired after defeating an organized group of demonic ninja. Three years later, the Taimanians are being actively hunted down by an enemy suspected to be her supposedly defeated foes, forcing Asagi to return to her duties.
LiLith has been planning to release their controversial eroge in four installments on Steam since August, however, a month later in September, the visual novel was removed from the platform. At the time, the game’s director Sasayama Ittousai stated that the removal was due to the novel's visuals including characters that might be underage.
Taimanin Asagi 1: Trial has now returned, but fans have noted that there’s less blood in the current version of the trial. The school life of Asagi’s younger sister Sakura has remained seemingly unchanged despite being often seen as the reason for the game’s initial removal. No sex scenes are present in the trail version, so possible changes to their portrayal in the official English version are yet to be seen.
You can find and play Taimanin Asagi 1: Trial for free on Steam. So far, there have been no announcements regarding the potential release of future episodes. However, there's a Steam page for Taimanin Yukikaze 1: Trial. It's different visual novel set in the Taimanin universe, though, at the time of writing, it also has no set release date.
