Hentai Publisher Sekai Project has announced a slew of new, upcoming titles at Anime Expo 2019.
Sekai Project has appeared on Anime Expo this year to announce ten upcoming releases, including both games and visual novels with sequels, fan discs, and completely new titles. Their first announcement is 9-nine-: Episode 3.
Developed by Palette, 9-nine- series is set in an academic city where, upon the accidental destruction of a shrine idol, artifacts with magical properties began appearing. Some people are abusing their newfound powers, with one culprit in particular turning people to stone. The series follows a team of friends trying to catch the criminal, but focuses on a different heroine in each episode.
The next announcement was a fan disc for The Ditzy Demons Are in Love With Me, which will feature multiple stories set after the events of the main visual novel. For those who haven’t heard of the series before, it follows the struggle of a teacher mistakenly assigned to a dormitory for ditzy demons. This includes a succubus with no sexual experience, a yuki-on'na who can’t handle cold, a fallen angel, and more. It was developed by Smile.
Similarly, Muv-Luv is going to receive a fan disc with Muv-Luv photonflowers*. It will feature an epilogue to Sumika’s ending from Muv-Luv Extra, and six short prequels for the game’s main heroines. The disc will also contain three stories about characters and events from Muv-Luv Alternative, and two mini-stories with new characters.
The Muv-Luv trilogy starts as a romantic high school comedy, with a young man trying to choose between his childhood friend and a wealthy heiress madly in love with him. In the meantime, he reminisces of a marriage promise he once made. Surprisingly, this evolves into a mecha sci-fi story by the second part. Muv-Luv photonflowers* was developed by anchor inc.
Sekai Project’s next announcement was Amatsutsumi. Developed by Purple Software, the visual novel follows Makoto, a man from a hidden village who has a mystical power to control other people with his voice. Driven by wanderlust, he leaves his village, and ends up in a remote town. There, he befriends a girl, joins her family, and meets her curious friends, whom he decides to help by using his powers.
After this comes Sweet & Tea's The Seventh Sign -Mr. Sister- , a visual novel about a young man named Reiji, whose life was saved by a cat-eared goddess. Three of her divine fragments end up trapped inside Reiji, and the two have to find a way to remove them, or they could both perish.
Love's Sweet Garnish 2, developed by Canvas+Garden, is a sequel to the romance visual novel which has you managing a cafe. Previously, Asaki was running his grandmother’s cafe while she was sick, but now, due to his outstanding success, it was officially passed onto him. Due to the cafe’s growth, two new underclassmen are hired to fill the staff.
Next comes a Metroidvania by Illucalab, Alice Escaped! Inspired by Lewis Carroll’s novel, it follows the adventure of two girls who, while doing homework at the library, are transported into a fantasy world by a magic book. They have only two clues to solve their predicament: the words “Find Alice” on a page that fell from the book and the running white rabbit they saw upon entry.
There's also the platformer Tobari 2: Dream Ocean. Produced by Desunoya, the game has you controlling a magical girl traversing ocean-themed levels with the help of a magical wand and an assortment of 30 types of magic.
As the last visual novel on the list, Sekai Project announced Victory Project by 33paradox. It’s a mystery story about Ramon, a money launderer who after two years in jail was sent to an island for prisoners, where he finds a peaceful life. Unbeknownst to him, he’ll soon fall victim to a conspiracy.
Victory Project was originally scheduled for a Steam release. However, after it was submitted for review, Valve deleted its product page without comment. Since then, the game was slated for release on GOG, Nutaku, Denpasoft, and Sekai Project.
The final announcement was Unity Unions, a 3D action game by Denneko Yuugi. Set after the events of Machina of the Planet Tree -Planet Ruler-, Unity Unions follows Corona Megistus, from a family of gemstone magicians, who’s beginning to practice her family’s magical arts.
