Push! Publication’s fundraising to localize LINDA’s NTR doujinshi was suspended from Kickstarter for breach of conduct, forcing the publication to restart the campaign on a different platform.
Ten days ago Push! Publication and MiKandi Japan have launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter in order to finance the localization of hentai doujinshi by LINDA, a renowned artist with 20 years of experience and an NTR fetish.
The project was highly popular and managed to gather over half of its $40,000 goal within five days, but was then suspended without warning by Kickstarter themselves. Upon inquiry, Kickstarter explained that despite originally accepting the campaign, they had re-reviewed it and found that it breached their rules. Push! Publication has publicized this response on their blog and through Twitter:
As said in the response, Kickstarter has a lengthy list of prohibited items. However, contrary to the message it doesn’t specify hardcore pornography, but pornographic material in general. This is in spite of many pornographic projects being regularly funded on the website, with some being spicier than NTR.
The campaign has now been restarted on Indiegogo without any changes to its content.
LINDA is a mangaka creating mainly netorare doujinshi. Having been interested in art since high school, He first began publishing in 1998 for the Shobunkan. His focus is on more mature, well-endowed, and often married women engaging in adultery and frivolous living. Among others, his works appeared in Weekly Manga Goraku, Gorakuten, Penguin Club, Pizazz DX, and Young Animal Arashi. One of his works, Tsuma ga Onsen de Circle Nakama no Nikubenki ni Natta no Desu ga…, has even received an anime adaptation.
MiKandi Japan, which translates and publishes Japanese eroge and manga, together with PUSH!, who more often publish their own erotic works, have decided to join forces in bringing LINDA’s works to the Western audiences. Their efforts will include translating all of LINDA’s original library into English and distributing it in digital and physical formats, as well as funding the production of a completely new doujin, titled White Secret.
The cost of the project was estimated at $40,000. In order to gather those funds, the publishers decided to host a crowdfunding campaign, which begins with a direct message from the artist themselves:
"Hello, everyone! I am the mangaka, LINDA. I am very happy and honored to have been able to collaborate with PUSH! and Mikandi Japan on this project. I have, for about 20 years, mainly drawn adult manga in Japan for publications such as Kairakuten, Penguin Klub, Young Animal Arashi, and Weekly Manga Goraku. I have simultaneously been active in many doujin circles as well. Every year I have released several doujinshi at Comiket.
My works are based on my own interests: "Netorare" or "NTR"-type works. NTR refers to the pain of the shock and yet simultaneous sexual desire aroused in a married man when his wife engages in sexual relations with another man. This fetish is appreciated by people all around the world, and it is a great joy for me to be able to share my enjoyment of it with others. Going forward, I hope to express the charms of NTR in many different forms.
This project is a compilation of the original doujin works I have made. It has been targeted for overseas readers, revised and improved, and most importantly, translated into English. My newest work "White Secret", which is currently being drawn, will also be included! Most of these works are being translated into English for the first time ever. Please take this opportunity to enjoy my works! ^^ Let's spread some love for NTR!"
You can read more about the project and support it directly on Indiegogo. Donating $10 or more will grant you access to a digital doujin of your choice, while donating $15 or more allows you to pick a paperback copy.
