Love Lab has announced a translation project for comedy visual novel LAMUNATION!.
Love Lab, Inc. is a company dedicated to producing high-quality English localizations of Japanese games. In the past, they have localized EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 4.1 WINGDIVER THE SHOOTER and Bullet Girls Phantasia, which were then published by D3Publisher. In their next set of localization efforts, they have sidestepped away from action games to produce an English version of the visual novel LAMUNATION!
LAMUNATION! is a comedy visual novel centered around the carefree life of Luna. He used to be a lazy boy, but after promising his twin sister Corona to make everyone happy, he became much busier. Together with his sister, his childhood friend Lamune, and their other friends Rayla and Iris, they partake in all manners of shenanigans. The novel is mainly themed around happiness.
Love Lab plans to deliver an English version of the novel sometime in the first quarter of 2019. Their release will consist of an all-ages version with an optional adult patch. Aside from English, players will be able to set the game’s text to Japanese and Chinese. The game will feature full Japanese voice acting.
Together with the announcement, Love Lab published an official message from the game’s lead developer, Ikuhiko Sato:
I’m hella excited to bring this super exciting and emotional Japanese visual novel to the world.
Released in Japan in June 2016, it’s a cheery, fun, cool, and kinda crazy—but always positive—love story set in the fictional city of Saint Aria and featuring Lamune (Japanese traditional soda pop), a custom sports car, and a rubber duckie.
It’s the perfect VN for anyone looking for scintillating heroines, fast-paced action, cartoon comedy, retro 80’s disco music, and a bit of yoga… and even if you’re not into any of those things, I’d still totally recommend it!
It’s been two years since the game was released, but Japanese players are still talking about it, so I’m sure you’re all gonna love it too.
And Japanese fans who’ve already played it can use the English version for language study! (Be careful, you might not wanna use this stuff in everyday conversation! – Meru)
