Muv-Luv Team confirms a September release for the sci-fi visual novel Muv-Luv Alternative, with beta access open for Kickstarter backers.
Adult sci-fi VN Muv-Luv Alternative is playable in English for the first time for Kickstarter backers, courtesy of the Muv-Luv Team’s Kickstarter project. All backers can now receive their Steam codes via BackerKit, with a public release just around the corner, due in September.
Moving forward, the development focus for the Muv-Luv Team will turn to the PS Vita, with the full Muv-Luv trilogy due to receive the port treatment. As a result of reaching all stretch goals, an official Muv-Luv codex, containing a range of information and images, will also be made available in both physical and digital formats, and all content will be available for download on Android devices.
Further down the line, an English localization of the PS3-exclusive Muv-Luv Side Stories Collection is on the cards. There’s no established release date for any stretch goal content at this stage, though the Muv-Luv Team has stated their goal of delivering most of the items before the year ends.
The Muv-Luv Kickstarter project launched on September 25, 2015, raising over $1.25million across almost 8,000 backers through its duration. The first game, which includes both Muv-Luv Extra and Muv-Luv Unlimited, launched on Steam in July last year, with an 18+ patch following a few months later. No official word has been made yet regarding cut content from the Alternative release, though an unofficial comment indicates that content will not be cut from the initial release.
All English releases have included a bit of extra love from the Muv-Luv team, in an effort to bring the games more in line with current standards. This includes updated graphics, enhanced compatibility and stability, and enhanced UI functionality.
