Compile Heart, Idea Factory’s subsidiary developer and creators of the Hyperdimension Neptunia franchise, have revealed another trailer for their newest upcoming game, Genkai Tokki: Seven Pirates.
Besides showing off gameplay and graphics in action, the trailer touches on everything from exploration and overworld navigation on the player’s pirate ship, to the turn-based combat system, RPG aspects such as item-collection and leveling, enemy types, and dungeon crawling. You can watch it below:
You can also check out a gallery of screenshots below. Some key things to note in comparison to the information that had been previously made available – the way you navigate the 3D overworld in real-time via your ship and acquire sidequests by making landfall on different, out-of-the-way islands, new shots of character stat screens and 2D art, and how combat animations and character closeups look in action, particularly the girls’ finisher moves and magic skills (such as teleporting sword dashes and summoning columns of water). Oh, and also the fact that there’s some enemies and mounts look like dicks. There’s also that.
Oddly enough, this trailer does not focus on the important mechanic of rubbing your girls’ chests in order to make their breasts grow and increase their power level, perhaps because that had been featured in a previous trailer released in May. Check it out, it’s actually a pretty complex system of mammary gland growth and diminishing:
Genkai Tokki: Seven Pirates is due to release on August 4th of this year in Japan for the PlayStation Vita. There are no confirmed details for an English localization yet, but cross your fingers and see what happens. With any luck, the west may get an “Asian” English version with subtitles, much like Dead or Alive Xtreme 3.
