Marvelous Entertainment’s Kenichiro Takaki has revealed more details about the upcoming Switch-bound Senran Kagura game, Shinobi Refle: Senran Kagura.
In a recent interview for Japanese magazine Weekly Famitsu, lead developer of the Senran Kagura series has revealed a few more details about the newest game in the Senran Kagura series, Shinobi Refle: Senran Kagura.
Takaki mentions he has high hopes for the Switch’s HD rumble feature, allowing for more realistic and immersive touch sensations for the players. With the HD rumble in focus, Shinobi Refle is supposed to be a pure and wholesome title that conveys the feelings of Asuka, the game’s only character, directly to the player. As far as the story goes, Takaki has revealed it will be both charming and stupidly comedic as is staple for a lot of the other Senran Kagura games, but the same time stressing it will also be somewhat different from what fans have experienced before.
Shinobi Refle: Senran Kagura is meant to be more of technical concept game, showcasing the Switch’s capabilities than a full-fledged title. Asuka’s character model has been rebuilt from scratch, as Takaki mentions he wants to portray the effect of light on the model as beautifully as possible despite the distinct anime character design. The developer lastly mentions that the developing games for the Switch has been an easy task and he hopes to use other features of the console while creating different titles in and out of the Senran Kagura series.
Shinobi Refle: Senran Kagura is slated for a Nintendo eShop exclusive release in Japan sometime in 2017. A Japanese teaser website featuring an embarrassed Asuka has also been opened and can be visited here as you wait for more information to be revealed.
