Minecraft Porn is on the Rise According to Pornhub

What?

Pornhub has discovered something interesting in this week’s blog post – Minecraft is very popular on its service. Since January 2014, the search term has risen 326% in popularity, with 108% of that being in 2015.

The big porn sites certainly have fun with their data. While most services will simply sell you to the highest bidder, YouPorn and Pornhub like to release their data into the wild. In an article we covered on YouPorn , we discovered what kind of person the big three consoles attract. Nintendo fans loved hentai, Xbots love themselves some lesbians, and Sony? Well, Sony fans sure appreciate some motherly love. Far be it from us to judge what you do with your console, but it’s undeniably a brilliant insight into the human condition. Sex is a huge part of who we are as a species, regardless of what others might say.

With the advent of the internet however, our tastes have evolved somewhat. Gone are the days of the missionary position for the sole purpose of procreation, which may as well be an obscure fetish now. Today’s humans are sexual deviants; we’ve simply evolved and moved on from our ancient vanilla interests. We want something more than that, and sites like Pornhub provide us with easy access to anything we can think of. In fact, we can even find Minecraft porn. Yes, really.

It turns out that Minecraft porn is growing at quite a rapid pace . Pornhub has already presented its findings about other interests, such as My Little Pony or Fallout 4 (blame Shadman for that one). When you take those into account, it’s probably not that surprising to learn that not only Minecraft porn is a thing, but it’s also getting popular too. Minecraft itself has sold over 70 million copies worldwide, so it’s hard to find someone who doesn’t know what it is in some capacity. Rule 34 is a harsh mistress.

This is clearly having an impact on Pornhub, who have seen Minecraft searches explode 326% since January 2014. 108% of that growth occurred in 2015, with two events in particular causing further surges in searching. According to Pornhub, in May of 2015, a large number of people mistakenly downloaded a fake version of Minecraft. Minecraft’s main demographic is teens, which comprise 60% of the userbase, so it’s not that surprising parents or naïve kids would be tricked in this way. The clever ruse did boost Minecraft’s appeal however, with Pornhub indicating a 291% increase around that time.

Pornhub admitted they had to search for Minecraft porn themselves to verify there actually was any on the site. It turns out there is, and it’s a bit of a mixed bag. There are brazen Let’s Plays, players with “nude” skins, Super Deep Throat skins, and so on. The Let’s Plays are honestly the most surprising of the bunch, considering they are literally just normal Let’s Plays. Who are we to judge where you want to find your audience?

According to Pornhub, the most popular searches don’t always indicate what’s actually on their service. It’s merely a slice of what people want to get their rocks off to. Some of the main searches for Minecraft porn include “Minecraft hentai”, “Minecraft animation” and “Minecraft hard drilling”. That last one is actually the name of one particular animation that’s available on the site.

It’s not just Minecraft either – it turns out a lot of people just love video games that much. According to Pornhub’s own findings, other popular searches include “Halo”, “Clash of Clans” and “Call of Duty”. These searches are usually visited before the viewer decides to go for some blocky action, so it’s clear that some video game fans need it in their porn too. Some people even search for Lego, so there’s clearly a fetish for blocks that’s been making the rounds.

According to Pornhub, these searches are primarily conducted by those under 35. Around 91% of Minecraft searchers fall into this category, with the vast majority of that falling into the 18-24 categories. Of course, this assumes that nobody is lying about their age, as over 60% of Minecraft’s demographic is teens, with the majority of those aged 15 and up. Men disproportionately search for Minecraft as well, being 58% more likely to do so. That doesn’t mean some women don’t want a square peg in their round hole, they just aren’t quite as into it as their male counterparts.

So, it seems with the advent of the internet we’re only due to get weirder. Minecraft porn certainly isn’t the strangest thing that’s ever been devised, but it’s getting up there. It’s hard to say how much actual porn is out there, as the tag is bogged down with regular porn, Let’s Plays (why?) and other unrelated gaming videos. It’s worth checking out if you’re interested in the weird ways we interact with pornography, so head on over to Pornhub and get yourself lubed up.
