Poké-porn: A Pornhub Insight

Predictably, adult giant Pornhub has just released a chunk of data regarding the recent surge in Pokémon related porn. Gotta search ’em all.

Earlier this week, we wrote an article on the wonders of Pokémon porn. News of a surge in Pokémon related searches surfaced thanks to xHamster, who noted that the term had taken the top spot on the website.

We mentioned in that article that Pornhub, one of the Internet’s largest porn sites, would likely come out with their own data on the topic. Never one to disappoint, Pornhub did just that.

Shown off via their “Pornhub Insights” series, which documents and presents all the data the site collects, we’re getting a look into the mind of a Poké-fanatic. Pornhub noticed that after the release of Pokémon Go—the rapidly successful phenomenon—daily searches were up by 136%. While it may not be as big as Overwatch’s 800% or so, it’s still a notable increase.

Interestingly, those searching for Poké-porn are also the same people who like to get jiggy with Minecraft. There certainly seems to be a demonstrable link on video game related searching, and as we’ve said before – this is just a way of life for some.

So, what’s there to learn from this?

According to Pornhub, men are 62% more likely to search for Pokémon porn than women. That’s not to say women don’t fancy a piece of Pikachu’s sweet ass, but men just want it that little bit more. The biggest difference lies between the old and young, with 18–24 year olds 336% more likely to search than any other age group.

Strangely, the 65+ bracket aren’t the least likely to look up the term. Those aged 55–64 were 88% less likely, while the 65+ group were only 82% less likely. While most elderly persons may have given up on life, just remember; there’s a few of them out there getting off to “Ash x Misty”. Perhaps that’s not much better.

Additionally, Android users were 51% more likely to search for Pokémon compared to their Apple counterparts. This makes a bit of sense, as you’re probably less likely to look at porn in Starbucks, the home away from home for the iPhone user.

Pornhub also used Google Analytics—essentially a datamining service—to provide insight on the types of games those searching play. In Overwatch for example, those looking up its related porn were primarily interested in “hardcore” titles. For Poké-searchers, “Adventure & Strategy” came out on top, followed closely by RPG fans.

Least likely of these were sports game fans, who probably already get their kicks watching large men grapple one another.

Finally, Pornhub also released some data on which countries love our furry little companions the most. Interestingly, countries in Central and South America were most likely to search for the term. That’s mostly where bestiality porn seems to stem from, so whether that’s a coincidence or not is up to you.

So that’s Pokémon, the latest in a long line of video-game boomers. Pornhub say that this is only likely to increase, as the game is due to be released in more territories soon. We look forward to it.
