Clean up for the next guy

Koei Tecmo has confirmed that the beach volleyball and ecchi spin-off to the main Dead or Alive series, Dead or Alive Xtreme 3, will receive a VR-capability update synchronized with the release of Sony’s PlayStation VR headset.

Team NINJA uploaded a presentation in Japanese of the new feature on its official YouTube channel:

The release date is planned to be October 13th, 2016, and the VR mode will come as a downloadable update the moment the PlayStation VR releases. Dead or Alive Xtreme 3‘s VR mode will also be showcased some time before release at the Tokyo Game Show this September. For extra immersion, VR mode will come on the heels of a series of updates (yet to be detailed in full) that will give the players options to prompt the Dead or Alive girls to look straight at the camera, as well as a “Photo Paradise” mode that gives the player the ability to take photos of the girls in a variety of poses and sets.

Additionally, Koei Tecmo promised some crossover DLC with the ecchi beach/sport anime Keijo!!!, specifically new costumes and bikinis.

If you’re interested in Dead or Alive Xtreme 3, you can purchase a copy at Play-Asia for the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita. If you’re interested in the mainline Dead or Alive titles, Dead or Alive 5: Last Round can be purchased here for the PS4. Dead or Alive 5: Last Round is also available for PC on Steam.
