Heartomics: Lost Count Now on Steam Greenlight

Heartomics: Lost Count, a game by Heart Atomic, is now on Steam Greenlight. This comes as the game starts off its crowdfunding campaign on the popular crowdfunding platform, Kickstarter.

Danmaku is usually not for the faint-hearted. They’re awfully intimidating — on the surface anyway — with players dodging an endless barrage of bullets, skillfully weaving through waves of complex patterns. They’re called “bullet hells” for a reason.

If you’re into that sort of thing, you might be interested in an upcoming game by Heart Atomic. The game, known as Heartomics: Lost Count, is a hybrid between the classic danmaku shoot ’em up and visual novel genres. Right now, however, the game still has a bit of a ways to go. There’s not a huge amount of information out there, and most of what does exist is in the form of promotional artwork. Still, the premise is there, so it’s something worth looking into all the same.

Heartomics: Lost Count follows the story of “Hero”, the male protagonist who’s lost his memories. We don’t know much about him yet, but we do know he’ll be accompanied on his journey by three buxom beauties: Euphony, Lyra and Melody. Each girl will likely appeal to different tastes, with Lyra, in particular, looking set to be fan favorite.

Your quest in Heartomics is to guide Hero through the game, collecting his memories as you go. Once you’ve collected enough, your most memorable thoughts come to the surface. From the developer’s Kickstarter, it looks like memories will function similarly to other erotic games, serving as the game’s sexy bits. Think Nutaku style CGs.

According to Heart Atomic, the Heartomics will hopefully be available in both a censored and uncensored version. This is due to the game’s appearance on Steam Greenlight, which doesn’t allow quite as much smut as we’d like.

If you want to investigate the title for yourself, you can find the game on Steam Greenlight right now. You can also take a look at the Heartomics Kickstarter page, which at the time of writing has 29 days to go. The team has laid out their project for fans to invest in, with the added hope of meeting stretch goals to improve the game.

Will we soon see Heartomics: Lost Count on Steam soon? That’s up to you, but we’ll keep you posted as more news comes.
