XSEED has just announced that it will be publishing the Western release of Akiba’s Beat, which is due to hit our shores this Winter.
We had a feeling that Akiba’s Beat would see a Western release. While we try not to go to press without confirmation, it was recently discovered that a new domain had been registered in its name . There’s nothing there yet, other than a generic splash page, but checking out the registrar details showed us that XSEED was at the helm.
Thankfully, as of today, we can now confirm that Akiba’s Beat will see a Western release after all. XSEED has confirmed the Akiba’s Beat localization in a press release and on their official Twitter account.
Also announced today was the addition of AKIBA’S BEAT, also for the PS4™ and “PSVita” to the company’s lineup, which is currently set for a Winter 2016 launch. More information about the game will be made available at E3.
Due out this Winter, the Western edition of Akiba’s Beat will be available for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. While its predecessor is also available on Steam, there’s no indication that this will be too. Still, fans of the game can at least be hopeful. XSEED has recently pushed a lot of titles to the system, particularly games from their Senran Kagura series.
In a short press release, XSEED stated that they will have more news available to us come E3. XSEED will have a reasonably sized booth this year, located in the West Hall, so we’ll hopefully have more to share by then.
For more on Akiba’s Beat, be sure to check out all our previous coverage on this upcoming title. We already know quite a lot about the game, including its setting and major characters, which have been shared in the latest editions of Famitsu Magazine. Now that XSEED is on board, we can also expect details in English from the start, which should let translators take a break.
Take a look at the latest trailer for Akiba’s Beat below, and visit the Japanese site (at least until the English one comes online).
