Koei Tecmo has recently released its total sales figures for the Japanese and Asian market for the first quarter of 2016. One of their leading titles, Dead or Alive Xtreme 3, has shipped 190,000 copies.
In a financial report released on the 28th of April, developer and publisher Koei Tecmo has announced their shipping figures for the first four months of 2016. According to the officially published online financial report document, which you can read here, Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 (both the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4 version) has shipped 190,000 copies on the Asian and Japanese markets. Team Ninja’s newest holiday resort simulator has sold more copies than two of other staple Koei Tecmo titles, like Atelier Sophie: Alchemist of the Mysterious Book (170k) and Romance of the Three Kingdoms 13 (180k).
The initial results pf Dead or Alive Xtreme 3’s performance are quite good, and all that’s left to see how the game fares in the next months. For comparison, the estimated total of worldwide (North America, Japan and Europe) sales of Team Ninja’s previous Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 for the Xbox 360 rounds up to 250,000-260,000. With these numbers in mind, you still have to consider that the newest title doesn’t have an official North American or European release.
The DLC for Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 is being steadily rolled out, and if fans are willing to pay a hefty price for it and show continued interest, we may be seeing another sequel in an undetermined future.
