Go Go Burunyanman Ecstasy!!! is a shoot ’em up game ported from the PlayStation Portable game Let’s Go! Burunyanman Portable, currently available on Steam Greenlight for voting.
Steam Greenlight is a system implemented by Valve, allowing developers to showcase their games and allowing the community to vote for their release on Steam. Once the games reach a critical mass of voters, the game is ‘greenlit’ and will be released on Steam once development is complete. One such game on Steam Greenlight right now is Go Go Burunyanman Ecstasy!!!, a side-scrolling shoot ’em up developed by Digital Cute. It is a PC port of the PSP game Let’s Go! Burunyanman Portable, which is, in turn, a port of a minigame from the PC eroge Musumaker. The game is focused around a cat who transforms into a girl when he finds out that he has no more tuna, even after searching all of his stashes. The cat believes that the mice have stolen his tuna, and thus becomes a girl to take the tuna back by means of danmaku magic.
The gameplay itself is a simple and comedic shoot ’em up in the same vein as countless historic arcade games, such as Parodius. The controls are simple and intuitive, but allow for a variety of playstyles since the game features multiple playable characters. The stages follow a traditional progression of waves of enemies, followed by a stage boss. Upon defeating the stage boss, the player is rewarded with a lewd CG.
As stated, the game is currently on Steam Greenlight and will be released on Steam if it amasses enough votes. The price has yet to be announced, but seeing how it will be an official English release, this is surely a far better deal than the current option of importing it from Japan.
