[UPDATE] Sunrider: Liberation Day Released on Denpasoft

The newest installment in Love in Space’s Sunrider series, Sunrider: Liberation Day, which we’ve previously coveredhas finally released on Denpasoft.

[Update 03/17/16] Thanks to a commenter, we’ve found out that there is indeed a patch for the steam version to restore the Denpasoft content into the game, and is endorsed by the developer Love in Space. The patch details can be found here, and has been available since the day the game released on steam. You do not need to pay for the patch.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the series, Liberation Day is the third game in the Sunrider franchise, with Sunrider: Mask of Arcadius and Sunrider Academy preceding it. It is highly recommended that newcomers play Mask of Arcadius before playing Liberation Day, as it is a direct sequel of the original. Sunrider Academy, however, is a standalone spin-off, so one does not need to play it to be able to understand and enjoy the story that takes place in the third game. Scroll on down for a synopsis and screenshots of the game.

THEY FINALLY RETURN HOME. BUT THEY WILL BE BETRAYED…

THE STORY SO FAR…

Following the devastating war between the democratic Solar Alliance and the tyrannical New Empire, the galaxy was split into two zones separated by the Neutral Rim, a buffer between the two states.

Weakened by war, the New Empire collapsed from within in the Compact Revolution. A figure known only as VENICZAR ARCADIUS led the people against their Imperial oppressors. Following the New Empire’s fall, Arcadius mysteriously vanished from public view.

Soon after, another entity claiming to be Arcadius returned and declared the formation of PACT. With the vast production base of the former New Empire, PACT invaded the Neutral Rim with the intent of striking the Solar Alliance.

Arcadius sought the hand of the Ryuvian princess for reasons unknown, but was thwarted by Captain Shields of the Cera Space Force.

He was further thwarted at the battle of Far Port, when Cullen’s blunder lead to the destruction of the PACT invasion fleet by a much smaller Alliance vanguard fleet.

What was envisioned by PACT leaders as a glorious invasion into the heart of Alliance space instead became a bloody foreign campaign fought in the undeveloped Neutral Rim.

With the Alliance Fleet approaching PACT space and their initial military goals now in tatters, VENICZAR FONTANA betrayed Arcadius in the Battle of Helion and took control of PACT.

Now unmasked, the truth of the entity claiming to be Veniczar Arcadius came to light…

The all-ages version of Sunrider: Liberation Day is now available on Steam for $24.99. The unrated, DRM-free version can be purchased from the Denpasoft store for $22.50. Unfortunately, the unrated version does not come with a Steam key, nor is there a patch to place the Denpasoft content back into the Steam version. However, the version being sold on Denpasoft’s store does include changes from the V2.00 patch that was recently released for the Steam version, which appears to have fixed and addressed the concerns many people had over the original Steam release.

This is incorrect. The steam version has a denpasoft edition patch to replace the content removed for the all ages version.
