Senran Kagura games have sold over a million copies worldwide. Just how much life and hometown is that?
I’m usually too busy, so I don’t look at sales, but looking at the documents today, I saw that the series finally made over a million sales around the world and said “hyaa” in a strange voice.
The franchise has covered many genres over the years. It began as a simple side scrolling beat ’em up in 2011 with Senran Kagura: Skirting Shadows, and has since branched out to musou with the Versus series of spin-offs, Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus and Senran Kagura: Estival Versus, along with the rhythm with Senran Kagura Bon Appetit!. Outside of gaming, a twelve episode anime series simply titled Senran Kagura, began airing early 6th of January 2013 until 24th of March 2013. There are also 5 manga series based off of the franchise. The main adaptation Senran Kagura: Shoujo-tachi no Shinei, which has been localized with the subtitle Skirting Shadows. This has since been followed by Guren no Uroboros, Spark!, Senshi Bankou no Haruka, and Senran Enji Kyonyuu-gumi.
The latest additions in the video game front are Senran Kagura: Estival Versus, which has yet to make its way to western shores, and Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson, which released recently in Europe on the 27th of August and will make its way to North America next month on the 15th of September.
